What Crantock has to offer

Crantock is a charming little village, steeped in history, on the North coast of Cornwall, about 3 miles to the South West of the major holiday resort of Newquay.

It has an ancient church, two Inns, a tea garden, gift shop & village store.

Most visitors come for its beach which is a broad sand-dune backed beach between the headlands of East & West Pentire (Pentire meaning headland).

Behind the beach are the open grassy spaces of the Rushy Green.

Between Crantock village and the South Western fringes of Newquay is the tidal estuary known as the Gannel.

Beyond West Pentire is Porth (or Polly) Joke, an unspoilt cove. Other beautiful beaches within easy reach are; Holywell, Perranporth and Watergate Bay. Each one equally magnificent and worth a visit.

Crantock is a great base for visiting all Cornwalls many attractions, including The Eden Project, The Tate - St.Ives, Padstow & the many award winning Restaurants.

Highfield Lodge provides quality, comfortable guesthouse accommodation. We are close to Crantock village centre with its two Inns and village shop. The fantastic Crantock beach is a ten minute walk.

Our guesthouse offers a total of eight comfortably furnished en-suite bedrooms all equipped with flat screen digital freeview televisions. All rooms are centrally heated, double-glazed and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, a hair dryer, dressing gowns, radio/alarms & free wi-fi.. All bedrooms are located on the first floor (there is no lift facility) and have a choice of views - open countryside towards Cubert or a distant sea view with the village & Pentire.

Rooms are all decorated to be bright and airy, most have been refurbished (including en-suites) in 2012. Two of our double rooms are larger and have a seating area which can also be converted in to a third bed, suitable for a child to share with parents. One of the larger double rooms can also be converted in to a twin.

We also have a modern, self-catering holiday flat, which accommodates two adults. The accommodation comprises of a double bedroom, NEW bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen/diner and lounge area with electric fire, Digital T.V. and double sofa bed (suitable for children only).
